Wisconsin had a slow maple syrup season in 2018. Mother nature created many challenges for the Midwest syrup cookers. Many people had a lot of sludge to filter out of their syrup and most people had many days between boilings. When the season was over we jumped into hot summer temperatures. Don't forget to clean equipment well so that it will work efficiently next year. Maple Hollow's After-Season Sale kept us all busy. The seminars were filled with good information about registering and licensing as a sap and syrup producer, pricing your products, and using a tubing collection system. Sale prices for select equipment will last until May 30, 2018. Place your orders now for next year's equipment so that it will be ready on time for next season. The Swap Meet brought in some interesting equipment. Several used Reverse Osmosis systems, a used 2 x 8 evaporator, large bucket covers, stainless storage tanks, and miscellaneous stack pipe. Let us know what you need and we will try to find it for you!.
